Ticket Tips on how to buy tickets online direct from the box officeTicketmaster, Tickets.com, Etc.

October 19th, 2005

buying concert, sports and theatre tickets online directly from the box office. The internet explosion means that there are a lot of people out there using their
computers to buy tickets, making the competition for the same tickets at the same time, fierce. Here are a few Ticket Tips on how to get the edge on the competition

It’s all about speed when trying to buy tickets on-line, therefore, Ticket Tips recommends you use a high-speed connection like cable or DSL. You are definitely going to be at a disadvantage if you are still using a dial up connection to the internet.
Make sure you know what time zone the tickets are going on sale in. If you live in CST and tickets go on sale at 10:00am EST, know what that means to you!

Have an account already set up with the box office website. This will save you the time of typing all of your personal information in during your purchase.

Close all other browsers you may have open on your computer. This will help you from getting shut out of the system.
Have the event page up and ready when the tickets go on sale. If you start at the home page, it will take you a while to get to the actual event page, therefore, there’s a chance of getting shut out with all of the other traffic.

With your event page up, hit refresh every few seconds until the screen takes you to the actual order page at the on sale time. Decide how many tickets you want to buy and search. There will be a maximum number of tickets you can purchase. It could be eight or even four. You generally get a better choice of seats in lower numbers, especially pairs.
Make sure you have a venue map of the actual stage set up available to view. A sporting event seat map would not be accurate for an end stage concert. You can always click on the venue map to view it, but this takes time, so try to do it before you even attempt to buy tickets. Print it out and have it handy.

When your search pops up and the seats are acceptable, then you can finish your purchase quickly. If the seats are not acceptable you can always search as many times as you want without pestering an agent to do it for you! Sometimes the box office will release the seats in intervals, and sometimes the quality seats will be released all at once. Just keep in mind that once you search again, you are releasing the seats in the prior search!

The advantages to buying online are that you have control over the time you get into the site. Being prepared by having an account set up and your order page ready will help you.

The disadvantage is that you will have to pay a shipping fee on top of the service charge. You could also get locked out of the site due to heavy traffic or having too many browsers open on your computer.

Tim Mcgraw Tickets

October 18th, 2005

When we think of country music, a traditional sort of music comes in our mind consisting on sad songs with stereotype tangy accents. But for sure Tim Mcgraw alone stand and proved it wrong. He actually gave a new dimension to country music. And nothing less can be said about Hill. Tim and Hill are very much alike in many aspects. Their backgrounds as well as their professional growth echo each other’s life. McGraw’s parents never married. His mother raised him; he didn’t learn who his father was till the age of 11. He took his biological father’s surname at the age of 18 years. In the same way unfortunately Faith Hill was also not raised by her parents. Her mother gave her up for adoption after her birth, she was afraid to tell her family that she was pregnant out of wedlock at such an early age. Maybe these stark realities of life determine Tim and Hill to not let their stardom to hinder with their home. Hill started searching for her mother in the early ’90s when she moved to Nashville to pursue music. Tim also came to Nashville having big dreams in his eyes.
Like any other struggling artist Hill also did a couple of odd jobs and finally her first break-through comes in 1993. She was working in the office of Starstruck Entertainment, Reba McEntire’s talent management company. One night Hill sang at a famous Nashville club. A talent scout in the audience saw some potential in her and signed her up. Hill’s break came in 1993. “Wild One,” her first single mounted to the top of the country chart and stayed there a month. Since Connie Smith in 1964, she was the first debut singer who accomplished this. Her first album, “Take Me As I Am,” was a major hit too; it sold a couple of million copies. Her first album earned her 1993’s New Female Vocalist award from the Academy of Country Music. Hill’s second album “It Matters To Me,” which came out in 1995 did even better at the cash register.
On the other hand, McGraw didn’t initiate pursuing music until college, when he bought his first guitar and taught himself to play it. He dropped out of school in 1989 and headed to Nashville. His father tried to talk him out of going, but he argued that Tug himself had also quit college to follow his dreams in baseball. At that point his father agreed to help him out. McGraw launched his first debut album in 1992, which wasn’t a great hit. Though his second Album had three singles, including “Don’t Take The Girl,” all went to No. 1 and a unique, novel tune called “Indian Outlaw” became an immediate hit. This was the first step towards the dazzling path of success.
Later after the year of Hill’s second hit album in 1996, Hill met McGraw when they played 140 dates together. They got married on that very October 6 in 1996, and then Hill took 18 months off to start a family and relive her life anew. About this she says: “I’m married to my best friend. I have a wonderful husband, who I’m madly in love with, and I have two beautiful little girls that have made life everything, besides music, I want it all.” And no doubt they both are blessed with fame and the homely comfort at the same time, of course the credit goes to both of them. Then she resumed her music career in 1998 with huge success of “Faith”. It seemed like she poured out her soul in this album even more than ever. She undergoes a matured transformation during this period; she no more gives an image of “country girl” and even admits it. Hill says: “I’m through with what I call the little-girl-going-away-from- home theme in my songs, it’s time for me to express myself differently.” And the listeners felt the striking difference in the next up-coming album that includes a mixture of countryside music along with other styles.
Just in tiny winy period of six years, Faith Hill has sold more than 11 million records, harvested eight No. 1 singles and ten No. 1 videos. Only this year, she received incalculable nominations and statues from the Country Music Association, the Grammy Awards, the Academy of Country Music Awards, Blockbuster Awards and TNN Music City News Awards. She celebrated the colossal crossover success of her first platinum single, “This Kiss,” which culminates with her appearance on the 1999 VH1 Divas Live, where she was sharing the same stage with Tina Turner, Cher and Whitney Houston. She was also named the newest face for CoverGirl Cosmetics and charmed the cover of several magazines like Country Weekly, People, TV Guide and Glamour.
Moreover, Tim’s song “Live Like You Were Dying” in 2004 and 2005 has collected every award it was nominated for- CMA & ACM Single and Song of the Year and also Country Song of the Year at the Grammy’s. On the whole, Tim’s achievements are as remarkable as they are numerous: 9 albums spawning 25 #1 singles and selling 33 million copies, tours that consistently rank near the top in financial and entertainment terms, a number of awards including a 2001 CMA Entertainer of the Year nod, 2 Grammy’s and the 2004 People’s Choice Award for Favorite Male Musical Performer. He is one of only three men ever to grace the cover of Redbook, his NBC Live Concert Special in 2002 soared higher than specials by U2 and Paul McCartney, he was the headline act at the 2003 Nobel Peace Prize Concert, and in November 2004 made a astral major motion picture acting debut with a role in the Universal/Imagine film “Friday Night Lights” with Billy Bob Thornton. His second NBC Concert Special aired Thanksgiving Eve 2004 winning the night for the network. In 2005 he was adorned with Grammy for Country Album of the Year for “Live Like You Were Dying” and song nominations, his duet with Nelly, “Over and Over,” has stayed on the top on Urban charts for 12 weeks. McGraw carries on his celebrity cabinet board membership with the American Red Cross in 2005.
Many artists have achieved great permanence or marvelous levels of success, but Tim’s career has indeed been remarkable for the way in which fame and success have been intertwined for so long. Tim’s decision to reinvent a major share of his career, merging road and studio into a flawless whole, really paid off. Isn’t it impressive? This is not the end; it is just a beautiful and graceful pace of a magnificent highly talented couple towards a glorious tomorrow. Well they are dignified on individual levels but together too they have several hit duets on their credit. And a fascinating event that is the tour Soul 2 Soul, which they did in 2000 and now once again this historical event is going to be held in 2006 coming April. Those who couldn’t get a chance to experience the last spectacular tour can enthrall themselves this time. Get ready for the magic that’ll leave you breathless by Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill.

Timothy Ward IS Hotter Than You

October 17th, 2005

One of my favorite websites to visit when I’ve had a few beers is HotorNot.com. If you haven’t heard of HotorNot.com then I suggest you click over there real quick and check it out. I’m far too buzzed to go into a detailed description right now. I’ll pause while everyone clicks over. (PAUSE) Ok! Is everyone back? Good! And now that we all know what HotorNot.com is all about I can continue with my ranting.

I like HotorNot.com because it allows me to look at women without the risk of them calling me a ‘pervert’ or ‘freak’. In fact I can stare at the women on HotorNot.com as long as I want and none of them will call me a psychpath, or worse, call the police.

I also love the fact that I get to rate the women after I’ve finished oogling over them. Any man will tell you that this is basically what we do anyway. We look at a women and then we rate her in our heads. Of course our rating scale is not so much ‘from one to ten’ as it is ‘would I sleep with her or not’, but it’s essentially the same concept.

I hate the pictures of woman that have men in them as well. I find it hard to rate a women if she has her boyfriend standing there next to her. If I give her a 9 does that mean that he gets a 9 as well? I may not think that he is a 9. Not that I’m judging men. But then again maybe I am. I’m not gay or anything but I know an ugly man when I see one. But that doesn’t mean I’m comfortable rating them.

I finally got up the nerve to put my picture on HotorNot.com. Actually, it wasn’t so much getting up the nerve as it was getting up the money to get my picture developed onto a CD so that I could upload it. I’m an admitted cheapskate and even though it only cost $2.82 I still had to work the added expense into the budget. Now that my pictures online I wake up every morning and check my stats to see hat rating people are giving me. Today when I checked I was up to a 7.2! That means that I am hotter than 69% of the men on the site! At least that what it says on my statistics page. That means that for every 100 males that post their pctures on Hotornot.com only 31 of them can do as good as me in the looks department. I’ll be sure to bring that up at my 10 year high school reunion. Every one else may have great careers as doctors, lawyers, mystery shoppers, et cetera, but has all of cyberspace voted them into the ‘Top 35 Percentile of Hotness’. I think not.

You can click here: http://www.hotornot.com/r/?eid=ERELALO&key=HNY to rate my picture. However, I warn you that I have contacts in the Russian underworld and I’d hate to have to send the Gormanilov brothers after you because you gave me a 4 or below. I might be just a tad bit biased but I think I’m easily a 8. Then again that may just be the liquid stimulation talking…]]>

Tips on buying guitars.

October 16th, 2005

1. It depends on how much you can afford.

With such a wealth of guitars available, a working person shouldn’t have a problem finding one that fits their budget. But this doesn’t mean that you should settle for anything. As the old adage goes, you usually get what you pay for. Usually the more money you invest, the greater the returns. You’re going to be spending a lot of time practicing so choose an instrument that you can enjoy. An instrument that you can look forward to playing.

2. What style of music will you be playing?

The style of music to be played should influence your choice of guitar. For instance if you plan on playing rock you should buy an electric guitar, since Rock music is better suited to be played on that type of guitar. If Jazz and blues is your thing you may prefer a semi-acoustic guitar from the start. An acoustic nylon string guitar may be better suited to classical music and smooth Jazz.

3. Child or adult.

Are you a parent looking to buy a guitar for your child? Consider buying a 1/2 size or 3/4 size guitar. Your child doesn’t have the reach that an adult has, so these smaller guitars are better suited. Regular size guitars will be more difficult to play and can cause a lack of interest.

You may also want to look into buying an electric guitar for your child if you can afford it. They have a small neck and very light thin strings and are therefore easier to play. If money is an issue
a second hand electric guitar may be the answer.

4. Wood type and its relation to tone.

Although there are no rules for choosing guitar woods, there is a guide that you can follow. Generally, darker woods produce a brighter tone while darker woods produces a deeper, richer tone. Medium tone wood like mahogany produce a very even smooth sound spectrum. You should compare various wood colors. The best thing to do is to listen to the tones that a guitar produces before deciding.

5. Pay attention to the guitar’s features.

Your guitar must have certain important features. Don’t simply focus on looks.

For example, your guitar should have die-cast machine heads (or tuning gears). With this feature, you will be able to tune your instrument more accurately and your guitar will stay in tune longer.

A solid top is also very important. A solid top usually consists of 2 solid matched pieces glued together side by side. This is of better quality than a laminated top where various woods are glued together on top of each other. With a solid top the guitar’s tone will be more even and accurate and you can expect a sustaining vibration throughout the guitar’s body.

6. Buy a guitar that feels good to you.

You’re the one who will be playing that guitar. So you’d better buy one that feels comfortable to you, whether you’re sitting or standing. For instance, if the strings are too far from the fretboard, playing will be difficult. An expensive guitar that is not comfortable is a waste. Spend time with the guitar before deciding.

7. The bottom line is sound.

If it sounds good, buy it. No two guitars can ever be the same. It’s never about looks. It’s about the sound that is generated through the use of the right type of wood and through superior craftsmanship.

You should be able to find a guitar easily online. You can order one that suits your needs today. Some of the best guitar prices can be found on the Internet. You even get free shipping to your door.]]>

Tips on buying used pianos.

October 15th, 2005

Inspect a used piano rigorously. Perhaps much more thoroughly than you would if it were a new piano. Play every key with the right hand pedal depressed so as to get a true impression of the tone. The keyboard, hammers, and pedals shouldn’t squeak. Are the hammers and strings in good condition? Is there rust and dirt?

Check the keys for looseness. place your finger on the front of a key and move it from left to right and vice versa. It shouldn’t move more than 1/16″ in either direction. Pay particular attention to the middle keys since they are played most often.

You can even ask who the previous owner was. A serious pianist would usually take better care of his instrument.

Find out how old the piano is. The brand name and serial can be used to trace the piano’s age. Be wary of pianos that are more than 20 years old.

Pianos age far more quickly than other strung instruments like violins and guitars. Their strings create a lot of stress on soundboards, bridges, and pin-blocks. Pianos have lots of mechanical parts unlike violins and guitars, and mechanical parts wear out as they are used.

But while age is important, your primary focus should be its condition. Compare the used piano with similar pianos. Make a new price comparison based on resale market value.

If the piano appears not to have been abused and is of a good price you can probably leave a deposit subject to approval by a technician. If you’re working with your tuner find out whether he or she is also a technician. Some tuners are not technical and have no real knowledge of the mechanical system of pianos.

The technician may be able to tell you the approximate value of the piano in its current condition, as well as the estimated cost of repairs, if any. Based on your knowledge, you may then choose to offer the seller a price.

You can check out a used piano online today.]]>

Tips on Buying Your First GPS Unit

October 14th, 2005

Anyone that enjoys the great outdoors has probably heard of GPS devices. They can come in handy when you are hiking, boating, biking, or doing just about anything else in the great outdoors. Twenty years ago, you had to rely on a compass the position of the sun and stars and your own common sense. Not anymore! Now you can have a handy little device that can pinpoint your exact location at any given time of day.

If you are in the market for a GPS device, it is important that you understand how it works. Since the GPS devices rely on air signals, you must have a GPS receiver and a clear view of the sky for them to work. When your device is turned on it is actually linking up with 27 orbital satellites in place around the planet. Four of the nearest satellites are located and the distance from them to you is calculated via the hand held device. The process is called trilateration. Based on that, the GPS device can determine where you are on the planet. Pretty neat huh?

When you look at the different types of GPS devices out there, you may wonder which one is right for you. Prices can range from $100- 5000 dollars, so it is important to do your homework. Find out what features each device has, and determine whether you need them or not. The following is a list of tips to get you started when you are shopping.

- Research the name brand. Though GPS technology is fairly new, the manufacturer should have a long track record of creating quality electronics.

- Don’t buy the cheapest or the most expensive GPS device out there. The cheapest may not meet your expectations and the most expensive one probably has too much extra stuff you will never use.

- Look for a large display, lighted if you are going to be traveling at night.

- If you plan on traveling by foot look for a model that is lightweight, and water resistant.

Once you decide on a model that you are interested in, head over to your local sports supply store. Get prices on the model above and below it for a good range. You can also try to look at auction sites like Ebay.com to find a good deal. If you are lucky enough to find one that is used, make sure to test it out first to make sure that it works properly.

Deciding to buy a GPS system is a personal one, so make sure that you understand the ins and outs of the technology. If you do a variety of different activities a good basic, waterproof model will do the trick. If you have friends or family members that own a GPS system, ask them if they are happy with their purchase. That way you can get an honest opinion on the different brands out there. An online opinion site like epinions.com is also a great place for honest answers.]]>

Top 10 Dream Interpretation Tips (That The Experts Use To Interpret Your Dreams…)

October 13th, 2005

1.Always keep a dream journal so you don’t forget your dreams. It’s best to use a tape recorder to record the dream when you first wake up, and then write the dream in your journal later when you have time. That way you can get all of the details out of your head while they are fresh and not have to worry about how fast you can write or how sloppy your writing is.

2.Dream Glossaries and other online dream resources are okay for reference, but remember that no one can determine what your dream means better than you can.

3.You must use a consistent approach and methodology when analyzing your dreams. Dreams are not random events and you shouldn’t approach their analysis in a random manner.

4.Often times we cannot determine a dream’s meaning right away. When this happens, just journal the dream as usual and then go back and revisit the dream frequently until the meaning makes itself clear.

5.Not every symbol in a dream is significant. Sometimes what we think are symbols are really nothing more than props or background just like in a real movie. For instance, if there was a payphone visible in the dream, it might simply be there because you expect to see one there. On the other hand, if you are feeling anxious about a telephone call you need to make, but have been avoiding, then the payphone could be a significant symbol.

6.Dream symbols can have very different meanings to each of us. There is no one answer. Use a process known as free association to link symbols in your dream with the first thing that comes into your mind when you think about the symbol.

7.Remember that sometimes a dream has no meaning. It may simply be your subconscious mind’s attempt to burn off excess energy by replaying events that are on your mind.

8.Dreams of murder are rarely what they seem, and dreaming of your own death is rarely a warning. There are other meanings to the death symbol that have nothing to do with mortality.

9.Even the most bizarre dreams can be easily analyzed if you use a proven methodology for dissecting each symbol in your dream and attaching a real-world meaning to it.

10.Never take a dream at face value. Even if you think that the meaning of the dream is obvious, you should still put it through your analysis process just to make sure. It’s very rare for a dream to mean exactly what it looks like it means.]]>

Top 10 Dumbest Things Pro Athletes Do

October 12th, 2005

1. Me Make Good Play!

Ever see NFL players beat their chest like a gorilla after they just made a good play? I guess it’s a Tarzan thing or something, but they look kinda ridiculous. Maybe if I was out there on the field and I was a 170-pound kicker watching a defensive lineman beating his chest after a sack, I may be a little intimidated, but overall, they look really silly doing it. (I attended a professional all-women’s football game this year and saw a 350-pound woman do this, which was particularly scary.)

2. The God Factor, Part I

I hate it when players point up to Heaven and thank God after a good play too. Bear in mind however, that I am not criticizing religion or anyone for having faith in God. But this just looks lame. It happens a lot in MLB for some reason. A strikeout will cause Pedro Martinez to do the chest-touch and double-index-finger-point to God as if he and God were chatting earlier about possible pitching strategies in the locker room, and the strategy they chose together worked, so he had to personally thank God using his direct line.

3. The God Factor, Part II

Locker rooms, sidelines, dugouts, bullpens, and court sides are often full of praying men. One question: “If you are praying to win, and your opponent is praying to win, who does God choose?

4. Bad Boys, Bad Boys, Whatcha Gonna Do When They Come For You?

Why do pro jocks get arrested for drug and/or gun possession so much? Of course, lots of people do this one unfortunately, we just happen to hear about the famous athletes who do. C’mon guys, keep the drugs at home, stop driving while high, and for crying out loud, stop packin’! You don’t need a gun. Who’s going to harm you? You’re six six and weigh 275 pounds!

5. It Wasn’t Me!

Telling Congress you don’t do steroids, then getting caught doing steroids is pretty dumb. I loved watching the clips where Rafael Palmero sat pointing a finger at the Congressional hearing stating with disgust and confidence, “I do not take steroids.” And then the next clip showing him apologizing profusely for taking steroids.

6. I Love You To Death

Murdering ex-lovers doesn’t happen very often fortunately, but my list wouldn’t be complete without at least mentioning O.J.

7. Rabbits

It seems that there are a lot of NBA players out there who use the phrase, “My baby’s mom” a little too often. And there’s too many pro athletes’ offspring introducing their buddies as “My brother from another mother.” Ever hear of a condom?

8. How Much Bling Bling Do You Need!?

It’s fascinating to watch professional athletes blow through all their millions in their first year or two and then have nothing left at retirement, which is usually only a few years later. How many fifty-year-olds are still playing pro sports? Not many (minus golfers of course, who will drag their canes and oxygen tanks with them on the fairway). So why don’t pro athletes save a couple of bucks?

9. Love My Hog

It’s not too smart to get injured off the job when you’re a pro athlete. Cleveland Browns Kellen Winslow Jr. crashed his motorcycle recently and will now miss the 2005 NFL season. Jay Williams, a number one draft pick of the Chicago Bulls, also got into a motorcycle accident and has not played since. What’s with motorcycles anyhow? Talk about killing the goose that lays the golden eggs.

10. “When You Come To a Fork in the Road, Take It” - Yogi Berra
Saying really dumb things in the media seems to be a particularly easy thing to do if you’re a professional athlete. I looked in a lot of places online to come up with a good list here. My problem was that there were so many good ones, I wasn’t sure which ones to pick. But here are a few gems:

a. Paul Hamm, Gymnast: “I owe a lot to my parents, especially my mother and father.”

b. Baseball player Tito Fuentes, after getting hit by a pitch: “They shouldn’t throw at me. I’m the father of five or six kids.”

c. Football coach Ray Malavasi: “I don’t care what the tape says. I didn’t say it.”

d. Baseball player Dizzy Dean, after a 1-0 game: “The game was closer than the score indicated.”

e. Boxing Analyst: “Sure there have been injuries, and even some deaths in boxing, but none of them really that serious.”

f. Soccer commentator: “Julian Dicks is everywhere. It’s like they’ve got eleven Dicks on the field.”

g. Bill Cowher, Pittsburgh Steelers coach: “We’re not attempting to circumcise rules.”

h. Jim Wohford: “Ninety percent of the game is half mental.”

i. Joe Theismann: “Nobody in football should be called a genius. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein.”

j. Charles Shackleford of the NCSU basketball team: “Left hand, right hand, it doesn’t matter. I’m amphibious.”

k. Shaquille O’Neal, on his lack of championships: “I’ve won at every level, except college and pro.”

As I already asked before, what can we expect from professional athletes? They often reflect society as a whole. Too much time, money and fame at a really young age can augment stupidity, simple as that. We all say and do dumb things, but thankfully, we don’t have microphones and video cameras pointed at us all the time. As Norman Einstein used to say, “Really smart athletes stay away from problems because they can predict the future with their ESPN.”]]>

Top 10 Most Expensive Paintings Ever

October 11th, 2005

Garחon א la Pipe is painted during Picasso’s famous Rose Period, a period in which Picasso preferred cheerful orange and pink colours. The oil on canvas painting, measuring 100 ׳ 81.3 cm (slightly over 39 ׳ 32 inches), depicts a Parisian boy holding a pipe in his left hand.

The record price paid for this painting in an auction at Sotheby’s New York on May 4, 2004, was a bit of a surprise. While aesthetically pleasing, the painting is not made in the Cubist style that Picasso is so renowned for. Many even state that the record price was more due to the artists name than the quality of the painting.

2. Portrait of Dr. Gachet by Vincent van Gogh ($ 82,500,000)

This painting by the Dutch Impressionism master Vincent van Gogh suddenly became world-famous when Japanese businessman Ryoei Saito paid $82.5 million for it at auction in Christie’s, New York. Saito was so attached to the painting that he wanted it to be cremated with him when he died. Saito died in 1996 but the painting was saved.

Vincent van Gogh actually painted two versions of Dr Gachet’s portrait. You can view the other version, with a slightly different color scheme, at the Musיe d’Orsay in Paris.

3. Au Moulin de la Galette by Pierre-Auguste Renoir ($ 78,000,000)

Bal au moulin de la Galette, Montmartre is an 1876 painting by French artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir. On May 17, 1990, it was sold for $ 78,000,000 at Sotheby’s in New York City, New York to Ryoei Saito, who bought it together with the Portrait of Dr Gachet.

4. Massacre of the Innocents by Peter Paul Rubens ($ 76,700,000)

This painting by Peter Paul Rubens, painted in 1611, is the only one painting in this list which was not painted in the 19th or 20th century. It was sold to Kenneth Thomson, 2nd Baron Thomson of Fleet for $ 76,700,000 at a 2002 Sotheby’s auction.

5. Portrait de l’Artiste sans Barbe by Vincent van Gogh ($ 71,500,000)

Portrait de l’artiste sans barbe (”Self-portrait without beard”) is one of many self-portraits by the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh, that he painted in Saint-Rיmy-de-Provence, France in September 1889. The painting is a oil painting on canvas and is 40 cm x 31 cm (16″ x 13″).

Van Gogh painted this just after he had shaved himself. This is an uncommon painting since his other self-portraits show him with a beard. The self-portrait is one of the most expensive paintings of all time since it was sold for $71.5 million in 1998 in New York.

6. Rideau, Cruchon et Compotier by Paul Cיzanne ($ 60,500,000)

This painting by Paul Cיzanne, painted in ca. 1893-1894, sold for $ 60,500,000 at Sotheby’s New York on May 10, 1999 to “The Whitneys”. Whitney, born into one of America’s wealthiest families, was a venture capitalist, publisher, Broadway show and Hollywood film producer, and philanthropist.

7. Femme aux Bras Croisיs by Pablo Picasso ($ 55,000,000)

This painting, painted in 1901, was a part of Picasso’s famous Blue Period, a dark, sad period. The painting depicts a woman with her arms crossed staring at the endless nothing. The beautiful different tones of blue ofcourse are typical for the period Picasso was in.

Femme aux Bras Croisיs was sold for $ 55,000,000 November 8, 2000, at Christie’s Rockefeller in New York City. With four paintings by Picasso in the top ten, we can name him without a doubt the most expensive painter ever.

8. Irises by Vincent Van Gogh ($ 53,900,000)

With 3 paintings in this top ten, van Gogh is also a main supplier of expensive paintings. Vincent van Gogh painted this at Saint Paul-de-Mausole in Saint-Rיmy-de-Provence, France in 1889, only one year before his death. Top 10 Tips on Avoiding Sports Betting Scams

October 10th, 2005

The online gambling world is filled with predators that are waiting to yank your hard earned money right out of your pockets. Even in today’s Internet and its higher communication level, there still exist a good number of sports betting outfits that you want to stay away from. Today, we are going to look at ten tips that can help you stay away from danger and bet more safely online.

Tip One: Who Are They?

The first thing you should do before spending even $1 at an online sports book is research. Look for their company information and see where they are located. Do they have a phone number? If not, move along. If they do, give it a call.

Tip Two: Search Engines

Before spending any money, take a moment and visit one or two search engines like Google, MSN and Yahoo. Type in the name of the site and see what comes up as well as the company name. If you find blogs and forums of people condemning the place, find somewhere else. A good place to start is sportsbookie.com.

Tip Three: Contact Email

One good move would be to locate their email address on the website, or the contact form, and drop them a quick message. Let me know that you are thinking of signing up and ask them a question or two. See how long it takes them to respond. If you don’t get any response for some time, leave.

Tip Four: Cash-out Time

Good sports books will process your payment within 24 hours. There’s no reason or excuse to wait longer. This one is tough to know. Using Tip Two can help your research.

Tip Five: Bonuses

Most online sports books offer some sort of bonus and that’s great. However, you have to watch out for the places that offer bonuses that seem too good to be true. Read the bonus terms to see what you must do to qualify and withdrawal the bonus. If there’s no data on the bonuses, the place might be a scam. Check out the blacklisted companies in sportsbookie.com and avoid those!

Tip Six: Betting Lines

This one is pretty simple. Rogue sports books will sometimes alter their lines to seem really favorable to the general public. Look at the lines from some other sports books and make sure they are somewhat similar. Most sports books will have various lines, but they will all be pretty close in terms of odds offered.

Tip Seven: Deposit Methods

Look for sports books that offer many different options of betting. Stay away from any online gambling source that only takes cash, check, money order and Western Union. Reputable sports books will take deposits from 3rd party financial services like NETeller.

Tip Eight: Deposit Amounts

Walk away from any sports book that asks for a large initial deposit. Good sports books will let you deposit as little as $10. Places asking for huge initial deposits are the ones you need to stay away from.

Tip Nine: Small Deposit Practices

As a general rule, you should refrain from depositing a large amount of money into any sports book. Deposit the amount you will bet for a couple days and work with that. Once you feel comfortable with the sports book or if you know they are legitimate, you can deposit as you wish.

Tip Ten: Bonus Checking

If you are working towards a bonus, make sure you check the bonus status (or points) after each bet conclusion. Software is known to fail and make errors. This does not mean the sports book is try to cheat you. If you discover an error, contact the sports book at once.

There you have it. Follow these ten tips and have a safer online gambling experience. These tips will help keep you out of harms way and let you concentrate more on the fun part of sports betting online and winning. Good luck.
