Biography
Heidi Klum is a German supermodel and actress. She is one of the most famous and beautiful models in the world. She is best-known for her modeling stints for Victoria's Secret catalog and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Her measurements are 35-24-34.
Heidi Klum was born on June 1, 1973 in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany. She was born into a family connected with the fashion industry. Her father, Gunther worked for a cosmetic company and her mother worked as a hairdresser.
In 1991, when Heidi was 18, she saw an ad in a fashion magazine for a modeling competition. She sent her photos just for the fun of it and that step changed her life. She went on to win the title of "Model '92" and sign a contract with the Metropolitan modeling agency.
Heidi's initial modeling stints were for the Petrol catalogue. She also modeled in fashion shows in Paris and Milan before moving to Miami and New York. She was seen in many print ads, including Bonne Bell, Finesse, Gerry Weber, Givenchy's Amarige, and I-N-C.
Heidi got her big break when she started modeling for Victoria's Secret catalog, the most coveted modeling assignment. It made her a supermodel and gained her much recognition and she was soon seen on the covers of leading fashion magazines such as Bride's, Cosmopolitan, Self, Glamour, and Mademoiselle.
However, it was her picture on the cover of 1998 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue that made Heidi a star. Riding on the wave of the new stardom, Heidi made her television debut as Michael J. Fox's love interest in the television comedy Spin City (1998). That year, she also made her film debut with 54 (1998). In 2001, she had a cameo role in Sex and the City.
Heidi's notable film credits include a small role as an ill-tempered hair model in the film Blow Dry (2001), the role of a giantess in the movie Ella Enchanted (2004), and as Ursula Andress in The Life and Death of Peter Sellers (2004). In 2004, Heidi became the host of Project Runway, a reality show in which the winner gets a chance to design clothes for Banana Republic.
In 2005, Heidi became the host of Germany's Next Top Model, the German version of America's Next Top Model.
On the personal front, Heidi got married the first time to celebrity hairstylist Ric Pipino in 1997. However, they separated in 2002.
In 2004, Heidi gave birth to a daughter, Leni. Her father is Heidi's former boyfriend, Flavio Briatore, owner of a Formula-1 racing team. On May 10, 2005, Heidi got married to British musician, Seal on a beach in Mexico. They have a son, Henry Günther Ademola Dashtu Samuel born in Los Angeles on September 12, 2005.
